The National Association of Abandoned Mine Land Program’s (NAAMLP) 41st Annual Conference will run Sunday evening, September 8th, through Wednesday, September 11th. Registration is now open and welcome to all who have an interest in AML programs, AML reclamation projects, and AMD treatment and/or abatement. This year’s NAAMLP conference will be conducted Jointly with the 21st Annual Pennsylvania Abandoned Mine Reclamation (PA AMR) Conference and the 47th Annual National Association of State Land Reclamationists’ (NASLR) Conference.

Conference Cost

The 2019 NAAMLP Annual Conference Registration Fee is $400 on or before July 31, 2019.
Beginning August 1st, the registration fee will be $450. (Please note that conference amenities may not be included with registrations received after July 31st)

For those unable to attend the full conference, registration fees for individual days are as follows:

  • Single Day Registration for Monday, September 9th is $175, includes technical sessions and awards banquet.
  • Single Day Registration for Tuesday, September 10th is $200, includes technical tour and riverboat dinner cruise.
  • Single Day Registration for Wednesday, September 11th is $100, 1/2 day of technical sessions.

Guest Information

Admittance to individual conference events can be purchased for spouses and guests. Only someone attending the conference with a full registration can add a spouse or guest to an event. Please use the “Guest Registration for NAAMLP / PA AMR / NASLR Joint Conference” menu selection at the online registration website or select either the “Technical Tours and All Social Events” option or the “Ala Carte” options for individual events on the paper registration form. Fees for the various spouse or guest options are as follows:

PA Abandoned Mine Reclamation Conference Scholarships:

In order to keep the 2019 Joint Conference affordable for those who typically attend the Pennsylvania Abandoned Mine Reclamation Conference, we are awarding generous scholarships on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible applicants. Coupon codes worth up to $200.00 will be distributed to scholarship awardees to be used during the registration process. In addition, scholarship awardees will be reimbursed up to $400 for travel and lodging expenses.

Scholarships will be offered in whole or in part to members of Pennsylvania’s non-profit watershed community and Conservation Districts. The PA AMR Conference Committee reserves the right to award scholarships on demonstrated need, distance, and availability of funding.

The scholarship request deadline is June 3, 2019. Scholarship requests can be made to Anne Daymut ( or 724-664-8893) by providing your name and affiliation within the Pennsylvania watershed community or Conservation District. You may be asked for additional verification including a letter from your organization supporting your travel and/or proof of your organization’s 501(c)(3) status.

Scholarship awardees will be notified of the amount of their scholarship amount on or before July 1, 2019. Scholarship awardees will be responsible for making their own lodging reservation. You do not need to stay at the official conference hotel to receive the travel and lodging reimbursement.
